Pierre de Serment - Gold vermeil
The "Pierre de serment" ring evokes the image of miraculous cros- sings made by saints on stone vessels.
The stones used during the transport of saints are sacred and are often kept as relics with protective properties against false oaths.
In French Brittany, for instance, Saint Budoc is venerated for crossing the sea on a stone made buoyant, which served as his vessel. The stone was kept in the church of Plourin, and it is said that anyone who swore a false oath upon it would be struck with paralysis...
The ring features a flat, satin-finished oval representing an oath stone, worn by time. The “stone” is mounted on an organic band symbolizing the ocean’s waves.

Care
Vermeil is a precious metal made from a 925 silver base coated with a layer of gold at least 5 microns thick, applied by electroplating.
Like any surface finish, vermeil requires special care to preserve its shine over time. We recommend removing your jewellery before washing, exercising, or using household cleaning or cosmetic products.
This finish is not recommended for rings intended to be worn every day, such as wedding bands or engagement rings.
The plating work is entrusted to an expert based in the Doubs region, who ensures that the process incorporates up to 70% recycled gold.
All vermeil pieces are plated with a 5-micron layer of 23-carat gold over a recycled 925 silver base and stamped with a small V.
Gold plating refers to a piece of jewellery made from a brass base coated with a layer of gold at least 3 microns thick, applied by electroplating. All Fontennoy rings are plated with a 5-micron layer of 23-carat gold.
