For the wanderer lost on the moors, they reveal the mischievous presence of the Ar Ioten or the Herb, a luminous plant inhabited by a spirit whose favourite pastime is to lead late travellers astray.

If your steps cause you to walk upon the Ar Ioten, you will turn all night long in an unbreakable circle until daylight sets you free. Woe to the farmer who tries to cut it, for the rain would start falling immediately and spoil the entire harvest…

The medallion is composed of a spiralling herb symbolising a labyrinth and surrounded by flickering lights represented by stars.

In popular Breton folklore, the spirits of the dead were closely linked to those of the living. This procession of souls, called Anaon, inhabited daily life and roamed freely through fields, deserted paths, and houses. Its presence required rituals meant to avoid disturbing their procession and to ensure their goodwill.
