A bezoar is an egg-shaped concretion formed by the accumulation of various substances inside the stomachs of animals, and more rarely, humans. In the past, bezoars were believed to have magical and medicinal properties, particularly in countering poison and certain diseases such as the plague.

Bezoars vary in color, origin, and properties: the chelonite stone, purple in color, is placed under the tongue to reveal future events. The rajane, a shiny black stone, should be worn when one wishes to obtain something from someone. The draconite is placed on the left arm to triumph over one's adversaries.

The "Bézoard" necklace, sculpted in the shape of an egg, borrows from the bezoar its antidotal properties. It calls for the healing of all ailments of the mind.
