The medallion is inspired by pilgrimage badges, small sculpted objects that were collected throughout the medieval period. These badges were often sewn onto clothing or hats and served various functions: pilgrimage souvenirs, devotional objects, and protective talismans. Some badges were attached to bells that, when rung, could ward off bad weather and repel bad luck.

The medallion is designed as a pilgrim badge that can be worn as a medallion or sewn onto a garment. It depicts a miraculous bell associated with hands and a sun, three symbols intended to protect its wearer.

I use recycled 925 silver, exclusively sourced from an Origine France Garantie certified supplier. This certification guarantees that all the silver used in Fontennoy jewelry is not only recycled, but also comes from the French market.

Each piece is hallmarked.

Silver worn daily naturally tarnishes over time. When you are not wearing your jewelry, it is recommended to store it in its case, away from light and humidity, to limit its darkening.

Certain products containing sulfur or chlorine can cause oxidation marks, so it is advisable to remove your jewelry before swimming or using cleaning products. The skin's pH can also influence the appearance of silver. To restore its shine, a simple polishing cloth or clay stone is sufficient.

Vermeil is a precious metal composed of a 925 sterling silver base coated with a layer of at least 5 microns of gold, applied by electroplating.

Like any surface finish, vermeil requires special care to preserve its shine over time. It is recommended to remove your jewelry before washing, exercising, or using household or cosmetic products.

This finish is not recommended for rings intended for daily wear, such as wedding bands or engagement rings.

The plating work is entrusted to an expert located in the Doubs region, who ensures that the process incorporates up to 70% recycled gold.

All vermeil pieces are plated with a 5-micron layer of 23-carat gold on a recycled 925 silver base and stamped with a small V.
